Organic nitrogen for Argentine crops
Ecoganic nitrogen fertilizers supply 100% plant-origin organic nitrogen with progressive release and no leaching risk. Unlike synthetic urea, NITROTECH nitrogen is directly absorbed by the plant as amino acids, improving metabolism, vegetative growth and crop quality without altering soil balance.

What is organic nitrogen and why does it matter?
Organic nitrogen comes from the breakdown of plant organic matter — in the case of Ecoganic, from hydrolyzed amino acids of non-GMO plant origin. Unlike synthetic nitrogen (urea, ammonia), organic nitrogen does not leach easily into groundwater, as the plant assimilates it directly and progressively.
In Pampean and NEA soils of Argentina, where summer rainfall is intense, synthetic nitrogen is easily lost through leaching or volatilization. Organic nitrogen in amino acid form avoids these losses and ensures more efficient nutrition dose by dose.
Moreover, by supplying directly available amino acids, the plant does not need to spend energy reducing nitrate to ammonium to synthesize amino acids: it receives the already-active form. This translates into greater photosynthetic efficiency, better grain protein quality and greater tolerance to water and heat stress, frequent in the interior of Córdoba and Santiago del Estero.
Organic N vs. Urea
Organic nitrogen (NITROTECH)
- ✓Amino acids absorbed directly
- ✓No volatilization
- ✓No leaching
- ✓CE 2018/848 certified
Urea / Ammonium nitrate
- ✗Prior transformation in soil
- ✗Loss through volatilization
- ✗Leaching risk in rainfall
- ✗Not suitable for organic farming
When to apply organic nitrogen?
Bud break / Tillering
Start of the vegetative cycle. Organic nitrogen in amino acids rapidly activates protein synthesis and leaf opening.
Vegetative development
Period of highest nitrogen demand. Regular applications sustain growth without creating peaks that burn the crop.
Pre-fruit set / Pre-flowering
Balanced nitrogen to ensure fruit set and avoid flower drop due to protein deficit.
Post-harvest
Replenishment of nitrogen reserves in fruit trees and vines to ensure budbreak in the next campaign.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between organic nitrogen and synthetic nitrogen (urea)?
Urea is synthetic inorganic nitrogen that transforms into ammonium in the soil and can volatilize or leach before the plant absorbs it, especially in soils with intense rainfall like those of the Humid Pampa. The organic nitrogen in NITROTECH is in the form of plant-origin amino acids that the plant absorbs directly, without prior transformations, with higher efficiency and no risk of burn or leaching.
For which crops in Argentina is NITROTECH most recommended?
NITROTECH is especially useful in soybean (R1-R5), corn (V4-VT), wheat (tillering-heading), grapevine (bud break-flowering) and citrus (bud break-sizing). In field crops like soybean and corn, foliar NITROTECH 2.5 or 10 complements soil base fertilization without volatilization risk. In fruit trees and grapevine, NITROTECH enables precision nitrogen nutrition phase by phase.
Can NITROTECH be applied through fertigation?
Yes. All three products in the NITROTECH line are 100% soluble and compatible with drip and micro-sprinkler fertigation systems. NITROTECH 2.5 and NITROTECH 10 are liquids ready to add to the fertigation mix. NITROTECH 16 is a powder that dissolves completely in cold water without leaving residues or clogging drippers.
Is it suitable for certified organic production under SENASA in Argentina?
Yes. NITROTECH fertilizers hold CE 2018/848 (European Organic Farming Regulation) and NOP USDA certifications. In Argentina, certifying bodies (OCA, IMO, ARGENCERT) accept these international certifications as the basis for approval under SENASA organic regulations. We recommend consulting with your certifier before first application.
How much NITROTECH is applied per hectare?
Doses vary by formulation: NITROTECH 2.5 at 2-7 L/ha foliar; NITROTECH 10 at 3-8 L/ha foliar or fertigation; NITROTECH 16 (powder) at 1-4 kg/ha fertigation or 100-200 g/100 L foliar. For extensive Argentine crops like soybean and corn, the typical foliar dose is 2-3 L/ha NITROTECH 10 at R1 stage with a repeat at R3.
